Brielle's Winter Wonderland Wish

Meet wish kid Brielle, an 11-year-old girl who loves lights, parades, and most of all, Christmas! She enjoys jamming to her favorite music and spending time with her close-knit family. At a young age, Brielle was diagnosed with a nervous system disorder that impacts her mobility and speech. When Make-A-Wish heard Brielle’s story, we knew we wanted to help grant her a once-in-a-lifetime wish!
Make-A-Wish wish granters met with Brielle and her family to discuss her interests and ideal wish ideas. Brielle is non-verbal, due to her disorder, but her parents and sisters filled us in on her absolute love for the Christmas season, her community and her family, above all. After meeting together, Make-A-Wish and Brielle were on the same page for her best day ever: a holiday winter wonderland extravaganza, with the entire community invited!

Brielle’s wish day was one for the books! Brielle’s community came together for an extraordinary day, including the Orange County Fire Rescue, UCF Police Department, Maitland Police Department, Kona Ice of Southeast Orlando, Timber Creek High School, and the Crawford Jazz Project. Her magnificent day began with a car parade and was complete with a visit from the big man himself: Santa Claus! All her favorite holiday festivities were included, from caroling to games and even “snow” in Central Florida.

Make-A-Wish being able to grant Brielle’s wish meant the world to her, her family and her community. Brielle’s mother remembers that each time they tried in the past to grant her wish, she was too unwell.
