Kinsley's Wish

A Disney Dream Come True

Five-year-old Kinsley is a brave, kind little girl who loves all things Disney. From just two years old, Kinsley loved Minnie Mouse and always dreamed of experiencing Disney first-hand. In June 2023, Kinsley and her family got to see her Disney dreams come to life after her wish to go to Disneyland was granted.

Kinsley’s story is one we can all learn from. Just days after her second birthday in 2020, Kinsley was diagnosed with a tumor and from there underwent a year of surgeries and chemo, requiring her and her family to make several trips to Denver to receive treatment. Through even her toughest days, Kinsley showed perseverance, bravery, and optimism. Now, at five years old, Kinsley has been in remission for three years! As a kid full of character, it only made sense to head to Disneyland and meet her favorite characters in person. Kinsley and her family did just that this past month and it proved to be an experience a true Minnie Mouse fan would never forget.

“The best part is that she is healthy now and got to truly enjoy her wish. Disneyland was magical. One of her favorite movies is Eutopia, and Kinsley got to meet some characters from the movie. Kinsley got to see all the things she watches in the movies come to life,” says Kinsley’s mom, Jennifer.

Kinsley’s wish proved to be everything they could have hoped for and more. From staying onsite at Disneyland, to skipping the long lines, Kinsley and her family had a one-of-a-kind Disney experience. An added bonus: Kinsley’s grandpa was able to accompany them on her wish to Disneyland!

Along with Disneyland, part of their family’s trip included a day exploring the San Diego Zoo, which turned out be another day of surprises, tired legs, and family memories made. Another extra surprise: Kinsley’s cousins showed up to spend their day with them at the zoo!

“The San Diego Zoo was so fun because Kinsley loves animals. She really wanted to see a red panda which she saw and, of course, became the highlight of the trip. We also rode the double decker bus and sky bucket over the Zoo which was an amazing experience,” says Jennifer.

When asked what her favorite parts of the trip were, Kinsley was quick to mention the Winnie the Pooh ride (that Disneyland staff let her stay on and ride several times over and over), the Dumbo ride, and of course the red panda at the San Diego Zoo.

“The whole wish experience reminded us there are really good people in the world who will help support your kid through tough times. It changed our perspective, and it was a dream come true. This wish created lifelong memories for our whole family, and we had a great time watching Kinsley smile, laugh, and be free,” said Jennifer.

For Kinsley and over 700 kiddos throughout Wyoming, wishes have brought their dreams to life. If you or someone you know is eligible for a wish, refer them to Make-A-Wish Wyoming today so their dream can come true just as Kinsley’s did.
