I wish to go on a shopping spree in New York City

A Deserved Wish

A Wilton teen questioned whether she was worthy of a wish. She most certainly was.

Caroline is not a teen who complains, even through her bouts of seizures over the years, even through her surgery ordeal. The one time she asked, “Why me?” was when she learned she was getting a Make-A-Wish Northeast New York wish.

“She was so concerned when she was granted a wish that she was taking a wish away from someone else,” wish mom Michelle said. “Or that she didn't really deserve it for some reason. I don't think she realized how sick she was."

“When I had {seizures] it was very difficult, but I kind of forget what it was like, honestly,” said Caroline, 18. “I tried to get that out of my brain.”

She was, in fact, not taking a wish from someone else and certainly was worthy of one. Caroline’s wish was a three-day shopping spree — with some relaxation mixed in — in New York City.

Experiences included Macy's ("She had a personal shopper!" mom said), the Nike store, Lululemon and a massage. Caroline received a full fashion makeover.

"She said it was the most fun she ever had," wish mom Michelle said. "It was certainly the most fun I ever had."

Roland J. Down Service Experts sponsored the wish. Employees sent Caroline and her family off with gifts, and lined their street cheering as their limousine headed to the Big Apple.
