Cameron's Game-Changing Wish

When Make-A-Wish Northeast New York wish kid Cameron arrived by limo to video game development studio Vicarious Visions, he thought he was getting a behind-the-scenes tour and a chance to talk with developers. And he did.

When he was asked to pose for photos in front of Christmas decorations, with those designers and family and his wish granters Jesse and Russell Matteson, he was thrilled.

Then came the shocker, when the 17-year-old was told to turn around: Those wrapped gifts were in fact not decorations, but his wish -- a high-end computer system with all the accessories that Cameron himself picked out.

This is a lot to take in. Thank you, everybody. I really appreciate it.

Cameron, who has a nervous system disorder, hopes to be a live stream gamer and video editor for a career – and is already well-versed on the technical aspects of his chosen path. He looks at his wish not just as a gift, but a way forward in a life that has thrown medical obstacles his way.

"This is a lot to take in. Thank you, everybody. I really appreciate it," the Schroon Lake teen said when he was finally able to form words after the stunning reveal. "It's definitely a really big boost of confidence through everything -- through all the medical visits and all the letdowns.

“This is definitely huge. So, you guys are awesome."
