Zavier's Wish for a Pizza Parlor Playset

Zavier has been battling leukemia for more than a year and ultimately, the doctors said he needed a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully, Zavier’s older sister Alivia was a perfect match and the two underwent the life-saving procedure.  

“I had the bone marrow to donate blood for him. That’s how we kept him alive,” Alivia explains. 

Like so many wish kids are experiencing, he has been spending a lot of time quarantining away from friends and family due to the high risk of infection and complications from his treatment. 

When it came time to choose a wish, Zavier wanted something that would speak to his two favorite things: playing outside and cooking with his parents. He wishes for a Pizza Parlor Playset!  

His wish day started just like any other - up until when a limousine showed up at his house! Picking up Alivia from school in style and stopping at McDonald’s on the way, it was soon time to return home for the big reveal. Zavier wasted no time putting on his chef’s hat and getting to work taking pizza orders!  

“I really appreciate everybody coming together and just helping us through a tough time and to make Zavier feel better and keep his mind off of everything he’s been going through. It’s something he can look forward to…every day,” said wish mom Jaime. 

Zavier’s Backyard Pizzeria and Grill is equipped with play food, utensils, serving dishes, a personalized menu with his own logo, and a cash register. A picnic table and firepit completes Zavier’s restaurant set-up and makes it the finest new restaurant in Maine! As a special touch, he also received a pizza delivery bag kit with ingredients for him to make real pizza with his mom – something he loves to do.
