Xaria's Wish for a Pink Castle

Xaria's Wish for a Pink Castle

Xaria is 5 and battles kidney disease. She loves all princesses and her absolute favorite Disney character is Elsa from Frozen. For her wish, Xaria decided on her very own pink castle!

She had been counting down the “sleeps” until she got her pink castle and was so excited the morning when she realized she had “no more sleeps!”

The team began installation of the castle early in the morning and the family was very careful to keep Xaria and the other kids inside where they couldn’t see its installation. Before the limo arrived, we gave Xaria a pink trunk with an Elsa costume inside. She was so excited to wear it for her wish day!

The limo brought the family to their favorite restaurant for lunch where they were able to get curbside takeout! When the limo returned the family home, Xaria had nervous excitement. She was thrilled at the sight of her pink castle and spent a lot of time exploring and encouraging her siblings to explore.

Like many families, Xaria’s parents are always looking for non-screen activities to keep the kids entertained and expressed that this castle will be a huge help. We expect many fun-filled days playing in her pink castle which is complete with a climbing wall, faux brick exterior and a fake fireplace that leads to a secret passageway outside. To make sure Xaria knows this special place is all hers, there is a deed hanging inside the castle.

The finishing touch was something very special: a cape that her cousins gave us to hang inside. As they said, “She is a superhero!”

The surprises weren’t over for Xaria and her family, later that evening the Make-A-Wish Maine Young Leaders Council decorated their cars in lights and had a brightly-colored Disney-themed car parade go by her house to celebrate her wish day!
