When it came time to make her wish, Mamie wanted a place to call her own where she could read her favorite books, spend time with friends, and snuggle her dog. She wished for a She Shed of her very own! Mamie lent a hand designing her beautiful She Shed, ensuring it had lots of natural light and a loft.

“Part of what we talked about, dreamed about the shed is because it’s a nice place to escape, not just from parents, but from the treatments and pills. There is no machine here. No nebulizer or special drinks. That will all stay out of here,” shares Mamie’s mom, Sarah.

On her wish day, she went to run some errands with her mom and had no idea that her wish would be coming true. When Mamie returned home, the “Wish in Progress” banner was the first thing she saw.

Mamie had not seen her friends in-person for over a year and being a very social child, this has been incredibly difficult for her. When Mamie returned home to her wish day she was also surprised by a handful of her closest friends at the wish! As soon as she stepped out of the car the emotions bubbled over and she burst into happy tears. Mamie explained the tears were “because my one dream came true.”

One of her favorite features of her She Shed is the custom bookcase where she can store all her favorite books and items. She also loves the sofa because it has a fold-out bed and she looks forwards to sleepovers with friends. Her friends also contributed to her beautiful She Shed by creating artwork that is hanging on the walls.

“I love all the artwork my friends made me so much. I just can’t stop staring at it, it’s so amazing what my friends made me,” Mamie shares.

It was the best day of my life.
