Kaitlyn's Wish to go to Broadway
Kaitlyn loves the stage, so it was no surprise when she wished to go to Broadway! Making it a girl’s trip, Kaitlyn went to New York City with her mom and grandmother.
“I’ve been doing theater for around eight years now,” explains Kaitlyn. “I’m a big theater kid!”
She specifically wanted to see Hamilton, Wicked and the Lion King and knew it was possible that she may not be able to do all three, so we were excited to surprise her with them all.
I’ve dealt with a lot, and I think Make-A-Wish was a good escape.

While in NYC, Kaitlyn also visited the Harry Potter store for butterbeer, saw “The Office” a parody, and Aladdin on Broadway. She also went to an ice cream museum that had a slide that went into a bunch of sprinkles and ice cream samples throughout.
“Her excitement and joy the entire trip and just the release of all of the medical stress that we deal with daily was gone for a little bit,” wish mom Angela says.
“The whole trip was an absolute dream and Kaitlyn was beaming and had a smile on her face for the entire trip. She said it was the perfect wish for her and I couldn't agree more. It was incredible to get away and not worry about any medical issues,” Angela continues.
Since her wish, her mom Angela has participated in our Trailblaze Challenge, raising funds for other wish kids. Angela and her dad were even volunteers at the 2023 event!
