Josie's Wish to Surf in Hawaii

Josie’s wish to surf in Hawaii was a trip to remember! After finding out that her wish would come true over her eighth birthday, her mom shared:

"This is truly a dream come true. When Josie was at her worst…she listened and I sang to her the Hawaiian ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ song to her. This trip feels like finally being over the rainbow for our whole family."

While in Hawaii, Josie’s dream to surf came true and she was all smiles!

“Thank You to everyone at Make-A-Wish Maine for giving our family such an incredible gift!” Molly writes. “We’ve seen Josie experience a lot of pain and suffering in her life. The moments we had in Hawaii, witnessing her experience exhilarating joy felt like a balm to our trauma and hopefully to hers. CHD has often meant hard things for Josie’s siblings. This made them feel seen and cared for in such a spectacular way. We are so thankful for all that planned this and especially to all the donors to this amazing organization!”
