Cody gets an epic playset

Cody’s wish to have an epic adventure playset has been granted! Cody is a 7-year-old from Cumberland County and lives with a respiratory disorder. He is a fun-spirited kid who loves to run, play, and climb.

Being extra pre-cautious throughout the pandemic, the family hasn’t been able to go to playgrounds or other community places. Therefore, the family thought it would be fun to bring an epic playground to their backyard for him to enjoy anytime he wants!

On his wish day, both Cody and his sister Mia went to school in the morning thinking it was a normal day. Around lunch time, they were both surprised to be pulled out of school early with a limo in the parking lot waiting for them. Cody’s classmates made posters and were cheering as he left for the day.

Cody loves trains, so the first stop was to the Boothby Railway Village for a private train ride. The marquee had written “Cody’s Wish Day.” The family then went to Monkey C Monkey Do for a ropes course. They already had a small zipline in their backyard, so Cody loved doing this much bigger course!

When they arrived back home, Cody was so surprised to see his cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents waiting for him. Supporters had bubble guns and posters to greet him, as well. He was greeting his family when his cousin said “Cody, did you see your new playset?” Cody immediately looked around the corner and SPRINTED!

Cody’s mom Kelly describes the playset as a “phenomenal clubhouse with a swing set attached, a slide, a rock wall, a fireman’s pole, and a little sandbox.” She says that this new play set “allowed Cody to get out of the house and have some fun!”
