Brady's Wish to go to the World Series

Wish kid Brady from Blue Hill has been a life-long baseball lover along with his entire family. Brady battles acute myeloid leukemia and is currently in the maintenance phase, still having regular scans.

When it came time for Brady to make his wish, this 15-year-old’s love of baseball was at the heart of it. He wished to go to the World Series!

An important step in the wish journey is finding out that their wish will come true through the Wish Proclamation. We were grateful to our friends at VIP Tires & Service for hosting Brady and his family at their annual conference. Brady thought he was there in honor of VIP’s support of Make-A-Wish, not knowing that they would be revealing the exciting news that his wish would be coming true!

Of course, the specifics of a World Series wish left a lot up in the air! Where Brady would be going depended on who won the games leading up to it, so with less than a week’s notice, the full picture of Brady’s wish was still coming into focus. Before we knew it, Brady and his family were packed and headed down to Houston!

On game day, Brady and his family joined other wish families from across the country who were on their World Series wishes. After arriving, Brady was able to go on the field and take photos and receive autographs from some of their favorite players, as well as some Hall of Famers! Staying on the field throughout batting practice, Brady’s wish offered a one-of-a-kind experience.

When I walked down through the tunnel and you could see the field, I tried to pinch myself. The actual game was just a phenomenal game—one of the best games I’ve ever seen.

While in Houston, Brady and his family also had time to explore the city, including a visit to the Houston Space Station!

Words cannot describe how awesome this has been. This was more than any of us could have imagined!
