Anthony's Wish for a Pool

At just four years old, Anthony had already been through dozens of brain surgeries by the time he was introduced to Make-A-Wish Maine. Anthony’s love of the water is undeniable. When he feels or even sees water he kicks his feet and makes excited singing noises! It was no surprise that the perfect wish for Anthony was a wish for a pool.

Anthony and family got to watch as the pool was built and the water truck came in to fill it up. When it came time for his wish reveal day, the family went out for ice cream in a limo. This gave the volunteers and community partners time to get everything ready for his wish reveal pool party!

When the family came back they were greeted by friends and family. As soon as Anthony saw the pool, his feet started kicking! Anthony’s siblings helped with a ribbon cutting for the pool and the family jumped right in with their Make-A-Wish shirts on! Anthony was at home in the water.

Since his wish was granted, Anthony’s balance outside of the water has improved because of all the balance work he does in the water.

This wish will have a long-standing therapy benefit for him in addition to being a fun way for the family to spend time together.
