Abby's Wish for a Tea Party Playhouse
Abby’s wish was a first: a garden tea party-themed playhouse! Her vision was very clear- she wanted beds to be able to sleep out there with her sister, a snack area with her own cooler, and a tea set. Her style was feminine and elegant.
Abby’s shed was delivered while she was at the hospital for a few days and she returned home to her first surprise. Her sister made sure to film the entire installation for her to view later, knowing she’d love to see all the excitement that happened outside their window. A team come in to paint the interior and after that, the windows were taped up with newspaper and the kids were not allowed inside! Some things had to be left for the surprise.
Wish Day started with Abby and her sister thinking that they were doing a photoshoot for Make-A-Wish. They all had their t-shirts on, Abby with some added pizzazz- lipstick and a big blue hair bow.
When the limo arrived, Abby and her sister were thrilled! Even once closed inside the limo, her squeals of joy could be heard outside.
First stop was to a candy shop to pick out some favorite treats. Abby was sure to pack a bag of sweets for her limo driver! After that, they drove to author Patty Farrin’s to enjoy a tea party. Author of The Teacup Café, her book fit in beautifully with Abby’s vision for her future playhouse. Abby was thrilled to get a signed copy of the book!
Finally, it was time for the big reveal! Abby and family returned home to family and friends waiting to greet them, surrounding her beautiful new playhouse! She did a ribbon cutting and was so excited to finally see every detail.
The shed included a real crystal chandelier complete with a remote to turn it on and off. Abby opened up her mailbox to find about 100 cards from her family and everyone at school – her classmates worked on these before they left for summer vacation, adding a special touch to this day.
