Jameson's Wish To Go To Disney
Wish story sponsored by the Rowedder Family
Jameson had his Make-A-Wish trip to Disneyworld in 2018 and it was the most amazing experience of our family’s life. When you have a child with complicated medical needs, the idea of taking him on an airplane and weeklong trip seems overwhelming and stressful. Luckily, the team at Make a Wish Iowa held our hand throughout the entire process and helped with every little detail so that our family, and Jameson, could simply pack our things, get on the plane, and enjoy the most magical trip we could have possibly imagined.
The parts of the trip that stick in my head the most are watching Jameson’s eyes light up when he saw the giant characters walking around, especially Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Chewbacca. Every time we ran into one walking through the parks, they would make a point to run up to Jameson and give him extra love and attention. It made our whole family feel so special and made the trip even that much more magical.
We unfortunately lost Jameson to his disease in 2020, but his Make a Wish trip is still one of the single most important moments of his life that I think back on with a smile. It showed us how much a group of people you’ve never met can care about your child and family. The team at Make a Wish Iowa went above and beyond to give us the most amazing experience and it will live in our hearts forever. Thank you!
