URBANDALE, Iowa — Thrill seekers and wishmakers alike now have the chance to be among a group of “VIP riders” at the grand opening of one of Adventureland Resort’s two newest rides, Draken Falls.
Now through May 17, Make-A-Wish Iowa, in partnership with Adventureland, will auction off 24 coveted “VIP rider” seats for the grand opening of the new Draken Falls log ride at Iowa’s favorite amusement park. It’s a fun way for Iowans of nearly all ages to be among the first on the rides while supporting the nonprofit organization. The value for each ticket is $150, which includes park admission, parking, branded merchandise, a speedy pass and VIP access.
VIP rider tickets are up for bid April 18–May 17, with the inaugural grand opening voyage taking place in late May or early June. To bid, visit qtego.net/qlink/firstride.

Draken Falls and Flying Viking
Draken Falls marks the return of the fan-favorite log ride. The beloved ride was a staple at the park from opening day in 1974 through Labor Day 2015. It was replaced in 2016 by the Monster roller coaster. Now, Adventureland has been able to bring the ride back better than ever. The ride will end with the same 40-foot drop but will also include an aerial panoramic turnaround and an airtime hill.
The new log ride will be even better with the addition of Adventureland’s seventh roller coaster, Flying Viking. The coaster will be intertwined with the log ride, adding even more thrill to both rides. Climbing to a height of 50 feet, this coaster is perfect for Viking invaders from young kids to adults.

The VIP ride at the grand opening of Draken Falls will take place in late May or early June.
