Karalyn's Wish
After a hard year of chemo treatments, adverse reactions to medications and challenges, Karalyn needed some good news. That’s when she learned that she would soon be granted a wish, and she knew exactly what she wanted: her very own she-shed in her favorite spot in the backyard!
On her wish day, Karalyn couldn’t stop smiling as she explored the she-said of her dreams. Decorated with cactus-themed accents and outfitted with everything she needs to hang out for the day, the she-shed provides Karalyn with a place of refuge all her own. Her favorite part is the loft, where she can snuggle in fuzzy blankets and drink coffee with her mom. Between slumber parties with her sisters and paint sessions in her craft area, Karalyn’s she-shed is constantly in use!
Karalyn’s mom sees the impact of her wish daily. “After her wish was granted, I watched her light up and open back up again. Cancer shut her down and gave her a lot of anxiety. Now, she is making memories in there that she will remember forever. She is in the she-shed every day. In fact, most of us are.”
Thanks to the dedicated and generous community of volunteers and donors, Karalyn can continue to have unforgettable experiences in her she-shed for the years to come. Her story is proof that a wish can restore hope and bring smiles, even in the most difficult times.
