Summary

Job Title: Development Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Director of Development
Posting Date: July 18, 2025

The Development Coordinator is responsible for a portfolio of peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, including the Trailblaze Challenge endurance hike. This position involves helping plan, promote, and implement fundraising strategies, while building relationships with participants, volunteers, and community partners. The coordinator also assists with logistics for additional development events throughout the year.

Responsibilities
  • Trailblaze Challenge & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising:
    • Support recruitment efforts for participants and volunteers
    • Assist with marketing materials and event communications
    • Provide high-quality customer service and personalized fundraising guidance
    • Help build mission connections between participants and the organization
    • Maintain regular communication with hike leaders, alumni, and volunteers
    • Coordinate logistics for volunteer-led activities and participant recognition
  • Event Logistics & Promotion:
    • Assist with setup, planning, and execution of internal fundraising events
    • Help secure in-kind donations and promotional support from partners
    • Collaborate with communications staff to produce event marketing collateral
    • Track ROI and outcomes for assigned campaigns and events 
  • Community Engagement & Stewardship:
    • Support relationship-building efforts with sponsors, donors, and partners
    • Help maintain donor and sponsor records in Salesforce
    • Execute recognition and stewardship programs
    • Participate in outreach efforts to raise visibility of Make-A-Wish Georgia’s mission
  • General Duties:
    • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives within the Development Team
    • Conduct research to identify potential fundraising partners and opportunities
    • Coordinate with Make-A-Wish America on shared projects and best practices
    • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting a collaborative and mission-focused team

 

    Requirements

    This role is a full-time position and must reside in the state of Georgia. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for an occasional early morning or late afternoon meeting. Once or twice a year overnight travel may be required. Physical demands may include lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required.

    Education & Experience
    • Passion for the mission and vision of Make-A-Wish® Georgia.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
    • 2+ years’ experience in nonprofit development, event coordination, or related field
    • Comfortable working with donors, volunteers, and corporate representatives
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
    • Professional, adaptable, and detail-oriented
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM/Donor Database platforms like Salesforce
    • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
