Lindsey's Wish

Lindsey is from Chattanooga, TN and she was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia) when she was 9-years-old and relapsed when she was 14 and 19. She was treated at St. Jude in Memphis, TN and came to the TC Thompson for maintenance. She was granted her wish when she was 10-years old. Her wish was to go on a cruise to Alaska. Her entire family (mom, dad, two sisters, brother and even her grandfather) flew to Vancouver Island and in Make-A-Wish^® style they went left out bright an early in their very own limo to get on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship. Lindsey remembers to this day feeling like such a rock star pulling up to the big ship in her very own limo! They went out on various excursions and her favorite one was the helicopter ride to a glacier where they were able to get out and walk around. 

Lindsey’s wish gave her a much needed break while on treatment. Her sisters were off at college and she really enjoyed having her family all together in one place. With all of her new found hospital experiences, she decided to become a nurse. Lindsey recently graduated with an associate degree from Brigham Young in Idaho and starts in the fall working towards her bachelor degree. Her ultimate goal is to work in a Pediatric Oncology Clinic and be able to give back the love and care that the doctors and nurses gave her.
