Addie and her twin sister, Avery, were just two weeks old when their family’s world changed forever. After the girls were born prematurely, Kait and Adam knew there could be complications, but nothing could prepare them for losing Avery and watching Addie fight through an extended stay in the NICU.  

After eight months, they finally brought Addie home, but the challenges did not end there. Addie relies on medical equipment to manage her nervous system disorder, making everyday moments, like going to lunch or visiting a playground, anything but simple. But despite it all, Addie and her family remain joyful, adapting to each situation and learning to love a life they never expected to live.  

When Addie qualified for a wish, her family knew exactly what would mean the most: a custom adaptive playset in their own backyard. Addie loves the feeling of the wind on her face as she swings, and now she will have a space designed just for her, where play and excitement are always within reach.  

On the day of her wish celebration, Addie was surrounding by friends, family, and Make-A-Wish supporters to share in the joy of her new playset! Now each day will be filled the excitement of having her very own playset right in the backyard built just for her.
