Syanna's wish to meet Disney princesses

Syanna's Frozen Princess Wish

Syanna is 4 years old, and her family will tell you right away: she’s the silly one. She’s quick to laugh, loves to play, and has a way of bringing a little spark into the room.

At home, Syanna is happiest when she’s surrounded by the people she loves most—Mom Natasha, Dad Enrique, her 10-year-old brother, and her 6-year-old sister. She loves being part of whatever they’re doing, and her parents say she’s always been the kind of kid who wants to be right in the middle of the fun.

And like a lot of 4-year-olds, Syanna has her favorites. She’s a Disney kid through and through—drawn to the songs, the stories, and the make-believe that turns an ordinary day into something brighter.

But behind that bright, busy little personality is a family that has spent the last year learning how to carry hard news and keep showing up for each other anyway.

Learning To Wish

Syanna’s health journey began with what her parents thought would be a straightforward appointment. After a scan for scoliosis, doctors found something more serious—a tumor. Not long after, Syanna was diagnosed with cancer, something that meant their family’s life had to change fast.

Since then, many days have revolved around appointments, treatments, and long stretches of waiting rooms. The hardest part, her parents say, is seeing Syanna in pain—especially because she’s so young, and it’s hard for her to understand why her body hurts. And while Syanna’s care team focuses on what she needs medically, Mom and Dad have also been trying to hold on to the rhythms of everyday life for all three kids: keeping siblings supported, keeping their home steady, and finding small ways to stay hopeful in the middle of it all.

Still, even in a hard season, Syanna kept reaching for joy through music, make-believe, and the kind of wonder that can pull a whole family forward for a moment. And that’s where her wish begins.

Syanna meeting the Frozen princesses

Sienna’s Frozen Wish

For Syanna, the answer came easily. If she could wish for anything, she wanted to meet the princesses from Frozen—Anna and Elsa, the characters she knew by heart and loved with her whole 4-year-old soul.

Soon, the Abreu family was packing for a week they would talk about for a long time. They arrived at Give Kids The World Village, surrounded by bright colors, friendly volunteers, and the simple, wonderful feeling that families like theirs are celebrated. For Syanna, it meant she could just be Syanna.

And then came the moment she’d been waiting for.

At EPCOT, Syanna got her own special time with Anna and Elsa. When the doors opened, she didn’t hesitate. She ran right up to them and wrapped her arms around them like they were old friends. Her parents watched her face light up—the kind of joy that makes everything else fade to the background for a minute.

“She ran up to them and gave both of them a big hug,” her dad, Enrique, said. “She got to spend about 20 minutes with them.”

For those minutes, it wasn’t about schedules or appointments or what came next. It was about a little girl getting exactly what she asked for—music, magic, and the feeling of being seen.

Room To Breathe

After the wish week was over, the memories didn’t stay in Orlando—they came home with the Abreu family. In the middle of so much that has been out of their control, Syanna got something that was entirely hers: a moment she chose, a joy she ran toward, a story her family can return to when things feel heavy again.

And it wasn’t only Syanna who felt the difference. For her brother and sister, it was a rare stretch of time that wasn’t shaped by hospital visits or waiting rooms. For Natasha and Enrique, it was the kind of relief that can make you emotional in more ways than one—happy, heartbroken, grateful, all at the same time.

In their house, the wish became more than a trip. It became a reset—a reminder that Syanna is still a 4-year-old who deserves wonder, and that their family can still make new memories together, even in a hard season.

You Can Make Magic

Back home, life didn’t suddenly get easy. Syanna still has appointments. Her parents still carry a lot. But now their family also has something they can pull close on the hardest days: the picture of Syanna running toward Anna and Elsa, arms open, completely sure of what she wanted.

Wishes like Syanna’s are made possible by a community of donors and volunteers who believe every wish kid deserves a childhood full of magical moments. Because when a family has been living in survival mode, a wish can offer something powerful: room to breathe, time together, and a memory that doesn’t fade when the trip ends.

That’s why supporters matter. “You’re not donating to just an organization,” Enrique said. “You’re donating to an experience for a kid to feel.”
