Meet wish kid Cole, who is an inspiring musician. Cole loves playing instruments, listening to music, and even writing his own songs. Cole was recently diagnosed with cancer, which met that Cole has been undergoing rigorous treatment. Cancer is a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body. When Make-A-Wish was referred to Cole and his story, we knew we wanted to step in to grant him the wish of a lifetime!

When the wish granters met with Cole and his family, they learned that Cole loves music and would like to be a music teacher. In pursuit of his dreams, he will be starting his studies as a music major next fall. He mentioned that for his wish, he would like to be thoroughly equipped for this new journey of his.

At the end of the meeting and being able to learn more about Cole and his passion for music, it was decided that Cole’s wish would be to receive a personalized trombone and guitar! Cole’s dream was about to come to life. While Cole was expecting two musical instruments, Make-A-Wish wanted to make this wish even more special for him. Make-A-Wish planned for Cole to go to an Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra concert with his family to enjoy a night out!

At the concert, Cole was surprised with not only being presented with a trombone but also an electric guitar! Cole was gifted these items by members of the orchestra on stage. He also received VIP treatment as he was able to meet individuals from the orchestra backstage after their show.

A wish coming to life can bring a little sunshine into a child’s life and help them gain hope for their future. Since Make-A-Wish was able to grant Cole his wish, he was able to focus on his passion of music, and not stress about his illness. Make-A-Wish was able to help Cole feel special and feel bigger than his illness.
