Addison believed unicorns were REAL, and she was certain that these majestic magical animals live in the rainforests of Hawaii. At the age of 4, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoid leukemia – the news was heart-wrenching, but it gave her a chance to wish for anything. And her wish was to go see a unicorn in the rainforests.
Addison told Make-A-Wish she wanted to see a unicorn in the rainforest in Hawaii. And the people who granted her wish took in a step further, making her the star of her own fairytale ...
In a land far away in a valley called Waimea, there lived a queen who had stolen from the rainforest once too many times and the magical forest nymphs had had enough! The animals of the rainforest no longer had sweet sap to drink, and the hummingbirds no longer had flowers to drink from. Even the most mythical creature of all, the unicorn, had disappeared from the forest. Addison listened to the town squire announce this tragedy – it was now up to HER and the prince of Arboretia to save the queen! Every corner of her quest held a new surprise and duty. It became a day full of adventure that Addison and her family would treasure forever … as Addison said, “It was happily ever after.”
Addison not only rescued the queen, she also taught the queen that true beauty comes from within. And she got to sit on the magical unicorn.
“It’s just really touching to see the lengths that everybody has gone through to make her day so memorable,” Danielle, Addison’s mom said. “I teared up twice as we were walking through the forest looking for flowers and fruits.”
