Chloe’s creativity and passion for music

Growing up always singing and dancing, 8-year-old Chloe wished to star in her own music video.   A creative child who loves having a microphone in her hand, the music video provided Chloe with an opportunity to use her creative talents throughout the project.

After frequent trips to the ER trying to determine what was causing a variety of symptoms, doctors diagnosed Chloe with leukemia shortly after turning 7.

“It was hard to hear cancer,” Chloe’s mom, Simone, said. “There are so many doctor visits and hospital visits in the first active stage of treatment that it's hard for kids to have that bright side when they don’t know what's coming.”

When it came to producing Chloe’s music video, she had everything planned out how from the scenes she wanted in her video to the choreography itself.  She worked with Noel Thompson, chief creative officer for DPro Marketing, to make her music video vision come to life.

“She had all of us sit down on the couch and she had a story board for us,” Noel said of his first meeting with Chloe to discuss her wish. “She cut out of magazines all the outfits she wanted to use for the video. She had a whole title and script written out for how she wanted the music video to be. She had her vision and game plan ready to go.”

Community support turned Chloe’s music video wish into reality. From in-kind donations to locations to film the music video, local businesses and individuals provided opportunity for Chloe’s music video to come to fruition.

Seeing my daughter happy, the happiest she’s been in almost three years is amazing to me.

A local mall and Macy’s store permitted Chloe and company to film her dance sequence before they opened to the public. An area pizza store made it possible for Chloe to shoot scenes where she made her favorite pizza, while a local family generously opened up their home to film the pizza party scenes.

“The thing that surprised me the most is not only how passionate Chloe is about this, but everyone else around,” Noel said. “All of the people who are participating in this, from the people who donated locations to people who donated food, balloons and a unicorn cake are all coming from a lot of good people. It’s pretty cool to watch it all come together and how many people were involved when it came to making this wish come true.”

Wishes like Chloe’s engage entire communities in life-changing moments. Hundreds of supporters celebrated Chloe’s wish during her music video premiere at Wish Ball – Southeast Michigan.

“Seeing my daughter happy, the happiest she’s been in almost three years is amazing to me,” Simone said.
