Taylor remembers everything about her triumph over Wilm’s tumor. But she never dwells on the chemotherapy and kidney surgery.
Instead, Taylor thinks of her Make-A-Wish® experience. The day volunteers unveiled her playhouse helped put her spirits over the top as her treatments were in the final stretch. That’s when she knew … she was going to win.
Taylor’s first stroll through the playhouse transported her from all her medical obstacles. She reveled in the attention – the TV news crew that filmed her every smile, the ecstatic friends, the kind-hearted neighbors. Taylor found that her volunteer wish granters heard everything she said … and created a playhouse with every detail that mattered: a chandelier, rugs, beanbags, even a fireplace.
Taylor’s mom remembers the sense of well-being that overcame her entire family.
Today, Taylor is a Make-A-Wish ambassador. She tells people in her community how her Make-A-Wish experience helped her get better. Her words encourage everyone to join Make-A-Wish in helping kids like her renew their courage and become stronger than ever.
