She steps onto the red carpet adorned in a deep-purple dress, black gloves and a sparkling necklace. She’s a beautiful, confident teenager. Bionca is no longer a girl fighting bone cancer - she’s a high school senior walking into prom.
Bionca missed out on too many high school experiences because of frequent stays in the hospital. But her life-threatening medical condition wasn’t going to keep her from savoring the precious memories of her senior year.
Bionca wished for a graduating senior experience so she could create joyful, long-lasting memories of her teenage years. Make-A-Wish® Orange County gave Bionca a class ring and a yearbook – two important senior keepsakes.
And it wouldn’t be a senior experience without the biggest event of the year … prom.
Bionca picked out a beautiful dress and accessories. Looking glamorous, Bionca smiles in front of a professional photographer hired to capture every moment of her special day.
Then she heads to dinner with her friends before continuing to the main event.
Make-A-Wish volunteers set up a red carpet for Bionca to feel like a superstar on her way to the venue’s entrance. Bionca and her friends have tons of fun dancing, laughing and enjoying the celebration.
It’s the perfect night she needs to feel normal again and restore her strength for whatever lies ahead.
