Party City Halloween Tips
Today’s guest post comes from Make-A-Wish sponsor Party City. With Halloween just a few moonrises away, we asked their party experts for advice: What’s the best way to decorate for trick-or-treaters, parties or even fundraisers to help wish kids? Here’s what they had to say!

Party City Halloween TipsFall brings us changing leaves, shorter days, pumpkin spice lattes and everyone’s favorite holiday – Halloween.  Whether it’s carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating or decorating the house with ghosts and goblins, Halloween is the perfect time to conjure up memories with your family and friends.

Boo-tiful Décor

Transform your home into a colorful, enchanting celebration of Halloween. Start off with the wide assortment of friendly ghosts, witches and pumpkins to dress up your space. Attract all the trick-or-treaters to your house by placing yard signs and inflatables in your front lawn. Utilize your front porch by placing friendly hanging ghosts, witches and jack-o-lanterns. Party City Halloween TipsBrighten up the porch with electric string lights, perfect for illuminating the night. Place a garland wreath or a standing witch at the front door to welcome in the flood of princesses, superheroes and mini-monsters. Stack three black cauldrons on top of one another to create a towering sweet display for your trick-or-treaters. Decorate the cauldrons using friendly glitter cut-outs and fill with classic colorful candies for a fun and easy DIY activity for the family.

Once all the guests are inside, capture every moment by creating your photo booth area, using banners and signs trimmed with bright Halloween characters and messages. Make an indoor pumpkin patch with haystacks and various sized plastic pumpkins for a picture-perfect photo backdrop.

Party City Halloween TipsMore Treats than Tricks

Halloween is nothing without “something good to eat.” If trick-or-treating didn't satisfy your sugary needs, Party City has everything you need to set up a boo-tiful buffet of candy, cupcakes and cookies. Start with a plain kiwi-green table cover, tape adora-boo ghosts, owl, jack-o’-lanterns and skeleton cutouts to the sides. Next, serve your guests’ food on festive platters, serving bowls and plates for a spooky arrangement of appetizers and desserts.

Another easy way to treat your guests is by having a colorful candy bar, perfect for either a late-night dessert or a take-home gift. Consider a variety of classic Halloween candy, as well as color-coordinated candy to create a sweet spread. Use various-sized plastic candy containers; fill them with traditional Halloween colors of purple, orange and black gumballs, jellybeans and sixlets. Place contrasting color candy sticks, lollipops and rock candy, and you’re ready to serve all the ghouls and goblins.
