Wish Kid Turns Challenges Into Halloween Fun

Here in the Brand Advancement team at Make-A-Wish America, there has been a lot of chatter about finding the perfect group Halloween costume. While I’m still not sure if my teammates will be The Village People or the Addams Family this Friday, we face the challenging prospect of one-upping ourselves each year.

Wish Kid Josh SundquistI stopped short in my tracks when I saw Josh Sundquist’s innovative (and hilarious) costumes online – and it just reminded us we have a lot of work to do in the next few days.

As I read about Josh's costumes and how he overcame bone cancer and the amputation of his left leg to become a member of the US Paralympic Ski and Amputee Soccer teams, I started to wonder whether he was a wish kid. Just 30 seconds on Google led me to his personal blog and this post showing him during his Make-A-Wish experience, and him today at the exact same spot at his favorite theme park.

Enjoy Josh's costumes, and the humor and perspective that make him an extraordinary person even on the other 364 days of the year when he's not dressed as a foosball player or a pink flamingo.

Josh Sundquist then and now
