That’s the world of video production. Every moment we spend on prior planning increases the odds of getting what we need on camera when the big day rolls around.
We also had some great on-camera talent: Haley, Versailles and Jaiden are three for-real wish kids who know the joy of a Make-A-Wish experience. Make-A-Wish Arizona helped us recruit them to share the message that frequent flier miles are an easy but important way to help grant wishes.
Let’s take a look at some images from the shoot!
Versailles showed up at the shoot with a boxful of cookies that he handed out to the rest of the cast and crew. There’s a guy who knows how to make friends!
Haley is the oldest cast member. She’s quick with a smile and a story … and she doesn’t mind getting a touch-up from make-up artist Kathy to look her best for the camera.
Video manager Josh planned the shoot over a period of months. Today sees all his work come to fruition. Being a dad clearly helped him relate to the talent – he’s a natural with kids.
Jaiden finds his motivation for the next scene. Having Brandon, the assistant camera operator, wield a clapperboard definitely added to his filming experience.
Every cast member got at least a touchup for the camera – often a hard concept for the boys!
Director of photography David Weber lines up for another shot.
For the Make-A-Wish Creative Services team, shooting a commercial is an “all hands on deck” affair. That’s how Brooke, our graphic design manager, got cast as an airline gate agent featuring in one of Haley's scenes.
Grip and electric team Tim and Joe prepare for a shot of Versailles.
The crew and talent more than rose to the occasion and made our Wishes In Flight commercial shoot a great experience for us all. Together, they brought three genuine faces to the importance of raising air miles for Make-A-Wish kids.
Each year, 10,000 kids like Alexandra travel with their families for a Make-A-Wish experience. They need your air miles. Find out how you can help every day in April to help make their wishes come true this summer.
