Welcome to the Wish Nation Blog

Wishes are powerful, life-changing experiences. But wishes don’t just happen – they involve a lot of work and support from thousands of people who give their heart and soul to help kids with life-threatening medical conditions. Now, for the first time, we are taking you behind the scenes of wish granting and behind the walls at Make-A-Wish through the new Wish Nation blog. Read more ...

Wish Nation gives voice to personal accounts of Make-A-Wish employees, volunteers, wish families and other supporters who want to share their own experiences and perspectives about the impact of wishes. We'll take you deeper into the wishes of kids like Sophia, who wished to go visit The Weather Channel studio. Just as importantly, this is a space for us to hear from you, to learn from you and to connect more closely with you.

We hope you’ll subscribe to receive Wish Nation posts by e-mail and that you’ll join the conversation when something inspires you.

Be sure to check out the new wish.org, too!

You also may have noticed that we recently gave wish.org, the online home of Make-A-Wish America, a new look and feel. From bigger, brighter photos and videos that help bring wishes to life on your screen to social tools that let you react to content or share to your favorite social networks, everything will help you connect more closely with the content that matters to you.

So check out the new wish.org. Then leave us a comment below to tell us what you like. Tell us how we can make it better. We love feedback. And if you have a story about how a wish experience changed your life or the life of someone you know, please share your story with us, and with others so we can reach more eligible kids who need a wish.

OK, enough about us, and our new blog and website. Now … it’s your turn.

Hear directly from those who work or volunteer here, or those who have been transformed by a wish. And learn why we are so committed to someday granting the wish of every eligible child, every year.

We want to hear from you.

I joined Make-A-Wish three years ago this September. As regional director in Northern Nevada, I get to do a little bit of everything in the day-to-day operations of Reno's little regional office. The best part is the wish granting, though. Today I trained four new wish granting volunteers to join our team. This next week I will grant two more wishes, bringing the total I have personally helped grant to date to more than a dozen. I love giving back. I love the look on the wish children's faces. I love the change I see in the wish family member's eyes when a child gets his or her wish. I love inspiring volunteers. I love the way anyone I have introduced to Make-A-Wish is forever changed. I am inspired that we have a space to share the stories that are the mission of Make-A-Wish. Thank you to the leadership for bringing this forum to us. Best wishes!
