Andrew Roby, Inc.
and The Select Group
are busy planning the Triangle’s first annual Pitchin’ for Wishes
cornhole tournament benefiting Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina®
. The family-friendly event is set for Sept. 13 at Midtown Park in North Hills.
“You can’t beat a family-friendly afternoon at the park, while raising money for a good cause,” said Will McKendry
, Andrew Roby’s Triangle vice president. “Pitchin’ for Wishes has raised more than $500,000 for various charities, so we are excited to bring the event to Raleigh to grant more wishes and spread more love.”
Pitchin’ for Wishes
holds the Guinness World Record for largest cornhole tournament. If you’re interested in playing in the Raleigh event, the registration fee for a two-person team is $50. The first-place team wins $750, the second-place team wins $250, and every participant gets a T-shirt. If you prefer to watch, Pitchin’ for Wishes is free for spectators and offers activities for all ages.
There are other ways to get involved and help make the wishes of Triangle-area children come true. Pitchin’ for Wishes organizers are seeking event sponsors – if interested, contact Christian McCall with Andrew Roby (Christian.Mccall@AndrewRoby.com or (704) 401-0671) or Erica Hinkle with The Select Group (Erica@theselectgroup.com or (919) 459-1049).

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy at a time when they need it most. For many, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illness. The average cost to grant a child’s wish through Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina is $7,500. The organization will grant 200 wishes this year, but there are more than 200 qualified children waiting for their wishes. The organization relies solely on fundraising support from the local community.
