Make-A-Wish® Central New York is proud to be the inaugural charity partner in the Boilermaker Road Race’s Charity Bib Program, the first charity runner program for a 15K race in the country. This program will allow locked-out runners to participate in the 2013 Boilermaker, which sold out in a record-breaking three days!
Established by Earle C. Reed in 1978, the 15K race was founded as a way for Reed to give back to the Utica community that supported his family’s business, Utica Boilers, now known as ECR International. Today, the race host more than 17,000 runners per year and is known as one of the most competitive road races in the world.
Make-A-Wish Central New York is offering 50 runners another chance to run this year’s race and add meaning to their miles. Bibs are available for both the 15K and 5K races. To register for the Boilermaker and claim one of these bibs, click here for registration and complete information.
