Eight years ago, Jeff Lutrell created a superhero action figure. Now, that action figure has made him a superhero in his own right.

Jeff was 10 years old and had endured five years of treatments for leukemia when the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® of Arizona sent volunteers to learn his fondest wish. It was an easy riddle and Jeff solved it in a flash – he wished to create Razor, a half-human, half-eagle, crime-fighting action figure based on his own sketches. He also wanted a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Razor to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

When it comes down to donating to the Foundation, Jeff has proven he’s no joker: Sales of Razor and his sidekick, Gizmo the Fighting Ferret, at KB Toys stores have put him in league with the Foundation’s elite givers. His amazing wish has spawned a $32,500 donation; the Foundation will induct him into its Chris Greicius Society to recognize his generosity and imagination.

“Jeff made a wish that not only lifted his own spirits, but made it possible for other sick kids to receive their fondest wishes,” said David Williams, president and chief executive officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. “So far, the proceeds from sales of Razor will grant wishes for several other children.”
