He may be the smallest rookie in football history, but for a few days, 3-year-old Sterling was larger than life. Sterling, who is from North Pole, Alaska, was receiving treatments in Seattle for his illness when he first was introduced to the sport of football.

He took an instant liking for football after attending a University of Washington Huskies game, during which he asked his grandmother, "Where are their tails?" Every Sunday during football season, Sterling puts on the jersey of his favorite team – the Seattle Seahawks – and cheers them on as he watches the games on television. Sterling especially likes Seahawks' receiver Joey Galloway, and screams "GO, GO, GO," whenever Galloway is en route to a touchdown – even during the replays.

Some children take months to decide what their one favorite wish will be. Sterling isn't one of those children. When wish granters arrived at his house, Sterling was wearing a Seahawks' helmet that was way too big for his head, and scoring touchdowns with a nerf football.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Washington State arranged for Sterling to attend, and participate in a Seahawks' practice session before an upcoming game. Sterling was greeted by his idol Galloway and even dressed out with the team. The team presented Sterling with his own jersey, with Galloway's number. Of course, his locker was next to Galloway's. During the practice, Sterling amazed everyone with his football prowess by scoring a touchdown, tackling players – including Galloway – and kicking-off the football. But there was more to Sterling's wish.

Sterling also attended the following weekend's game, performed the coin toss, rode in the team's "helmet car" each time the Seahawks scored a touchdown and watched the game from the sidelines with his family.

Sterling's only quandary now is whether he wants to be a receiver or a quarterback.
