Twelve-year-old Kyle is an undeniable soccer fan. Every four years, the international soccer federation FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) gives Kyle a huge reason to cheer. The federation holds a tournament – called the FIFA World CupTM – to bring together the world's strongest national teams to play for the title of world champion. The winner brings home a golden trophy and international bragging rights for the next few years.

During the 1998 tournament, Kyle told his parents the family needed to attend a game the next time the tournament was played. His mom reluctantly told him that it couldn't be done. In the years that followed, Kyle's love for the game flourished, and he crossed paths with wish granters from the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Iowa. He now had another opportunity to share his dream. Once again, he explained his wish.

This time, Kyle had the largest wish-granting organization in the world working for him. Faster than you can scream "Goal!" the Foundation had Kyle and his family in Korea, the co-host country for the 2002 FIFA World CupTM. The young athlete and his fellow countrymen cheered Team USA on to victory versus Portugal in Suwon World Cup Stadium. Later, Kyle said the 3-2 win was his favorite part of the wish. (Team USA eventually lost to Germany, 1-0, later in the tournament.)

While in Korea, Kyle's family enjoyed the hospitality of volunteers who greeted and guided them. They even met a Korean Make-A-Wish® family. Additionally, they enjoyed Lotte World, a Disney-like theme park, and toured the Olympic Stadium.
