Wish kid Rebecca, a 13-year-old from Illinois, is a huge fan of the popular “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. She is mesmerized by the fascinating storylines featuring Hobbits, elves, dwarves, and other characters from Middle Earth.

When wish granters from the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois asked Rebecca about her one true wish, she chose to meet Billy Boyd. Boyd, a native of Glasgow, Scotland, plays the character of Pippin – a fun-loving Hobbit and member of the Fellowship – in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

Rebecca’s wish granters informed her that her wish to meet Boyd would be realized, but Rebecca couldn’t imagine the experience that was in store for her.

Rebecca and her family traveled from their Illinois home to Southern California for the wish of a lifetime. Rebecca’s wish experience began in inspiring fashion upon arriving in Los Angeles. When she entered her hotel room, Rebecca was greeted with an array of gifts from Boyd – including a balloon bouquet, apparel, jewelry, and assorted “Lord of the Rings” memorabilia.

The next day was spent enjoying the sights and sounds of Tinseltown, which included shopping, spa treatments, and a visit to a salon. Rebecca realized that she was going to meet Billy Boyd, but wasn’t sure exactly when. That all changed at dinnertime.

After finishing their dinner at The Ivy Restaurant, Rebecca and her family were visited by a special guest, none other than Billy Boyd himself. The two enjoyed a wonderful time getting to know each other and Rebecca was sure to ask plenty of questions of the popular actor.

The following day, Rebecca had the opportunity to spend some more time with Billy at a photo shoot he was conducting for Premiere magazine. Billy Boyd’s managers contacted “Entertainment Tonight” regarding Rebecca’s wish, and “ET” presented her with the opportunity to interview Boyd at the photo shoot.

Rebecca displayed the poise of a seasoned professional when she interviewed Boyd. At the photo shoot, all of the Hobbits from “Lord of the Rings” presented Rebecca with a special pin that only they wear in the film. A fitting ending to an unforgettable wish, which – thanks to “Entertainment Tonight” – Rebecca could share with her friends and family back home.
