Delta Takes Casey to a Skateboarder's Paradise
Casey takes his health seriously, but he also takes skateboarding seriously; it’s one of the limited number of sports he can participate in safely, provided he wears protective gear and makes smart choices about which tricks he learns and which ones he

leaves to the daredevils. To determine exactly what wish he’d make, Casey researched the best skateboard parks in the United States; he picked the limited-access park at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu. The staff at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama was up to the challenge; they got the Air Force to open its doors to Casey, as well as scheduling a fun-filled week in the Hawaiian islands for Casey and his family, including his grandparents. They took surfing lessons; visited a zoo, an aquarium and a waterpark; and feasted and danced at a colorful luau.

Such a faraway trip would not have been possible for Casey and his family without Delta Air Lines and its SkyMiles members. Each year, participants in Delta’s frequent flier program donate millions of SkyMiles to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and 15 other select charities through the SkyWish program; through matching formulas or one-time gifts, Delta donates SkyMiles as well. The charities can then redeem SkyMiles for flights across the country or around the world. “The SkyWish program has been in place for over 10 years now and, through the hundreds of millions of SkyMiles donated, has helped families of all types with support when they are most in need,” says Jeff Robertson, managing director of the SkyMiles program.
