What’s more exciting than seeing your favorite recording artist perform live? Getting the chance to see a handful of your favorite artists perform – and then meeting them!

This is exactly what happened for 17-year-old Jamee when the Make-A-Wish Foundationâ of Vermont granted her most heartfelt wish. Jamee is a huge fan of music, and it was her dream to attend the 2004 Billboard Music Awards.

Jamee’s once-in-a lifetime adventure started in Las Vegas, Nev. at the MGM Grand Hotel, where the awards show took place. The VIP treatment began when Jamee and her family were picked up at the airport in a limousine. Jamee and her family were invited to attend rehearsals where she saw performances by Pink, Clay Aiken, Sting, Beyoncé and more! This behind-the-scenes experience of the awards show gave her a special look at the hard work that goes into making these events both glamorous and entertaining.

Her “rehearsal” day was followed by the actual awards show. The VIP treatment continued with professional hair and makeup, followed by a special walk down the red carpet. On the red carpet, Jamee had the unexpected opportunity to “rub elbows” with some of her favorite singers, and say hello to a few of the performers she watched at rehearsals. Jamee felt like a star!

First-class seats to the show and a surprise meeting with the Backstreet Boys after the awards ended this fairy tale dream. This once-shy young lady left with a beaming smile, memories of a grand adventure, and a new confidence to help her seize the day.
