What could a beautiful 9-year-old want as a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® of Southern Florida? To be a model and strike a pose, of course!

Volunteer wish granters began Gretchen’s glamorous adventure by officially proclaiming the wish kid “Supermodel of the Year” and presenting her with an award and letter. As a supermodel, she had to appear at Univision.com studios for a professional photo shoot.

Once the announcement was made, preparations for the shoot began. Gretchen was picked up by limo and driven to Rampage at the Falls for a head-to-toe outfit selection. After trying several outfits, she settled for a beautiful off-the-shoulders top, gray mini-skirt and a clasp purse. Since no outfit would be complete without accessorizing, she went straight for the jewelry case, where she chose a beautiful heart necklace and pink feather-and-rhinestone earrings.

"Can't a girl have a ring?" she asked. Gretchen completed her awesome outfit by adding a pretty pink ring, which she was allowed to keep.

The next morning, the limo picked up Gretchen and drove her to Avance in Coconut Grove, where she received a professional makeover including highlights, eyebrow styling, and makeup by stylists to the stars, salon owners Manny and Idania. In addition, she received a scalp massage and a French manicure and pedicure. A television camera crew and a photographer were on hand to document each step of her magical transformation.

The last stop of the day was Univision.com studios, where a reporter interviewed Gretchen and asked questions about her outfit selection and day at the salon. Finally, the big moment had arrived. Our supermodel changed into her outfit and worked the camera with incredible charm and grace. With every new pose, Gretchen would pucker up, flip her hair, and exclaim "Darling!"
