U.S. MIDAS DEALERS WILL SHARE THE POWER OF A WISH® IN 2008

National Promotion to Raise Up to $400,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®

ITASCA, Ill. (May 5, 2008) – Midas International Corporation, one of the world’s largest providers of automotive services, is helping make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. From May 5-June 28, on behalf of its customers, Midas will donate $5 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every Midas Touch™ Maintenance Package purchased. Midas plans to raise up to $400,000, with a guaranteed minimum of $350,000, to help grant children’s wishes.

“Our neighborhood Midas dealers are committed to being a valued member of their customers’ communities. We’re proud to be a supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and their mission,” said Rick Dow, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Midas. “Our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a wonderful way for our customers to join with us and share the power of a wish in their communities.”

“We’re thrilled to be associated with Midas International and their over 700 dealers throughout the United States,” said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer. “Good corporate partners like Midas care about their customers and families in their communities. The Foundation’s partnership with Midas will help bring hope, strength and joy to even more courageous wish kids.”

Midas is also supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s annual campaign, Destination Joy® presented by LAY’S®. The Foundation grants 13,000 wishes a year – that’s a wish every 40 minutes. But that’s only half of the 27,000 children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition annually, and Destination Joy will raise the resources to make every wish happen.

The Midas Touch™ Maintenance Package offers affordable and convenient preventive maintenance to help improve vehicle efficiency and maintain better gas mileage amid rising gas prices this summer. The car care package consists of an oil and filter change, four wheel tire rotation and 45 point Midas Touch™ Courtesy Check.

Routine Maintenance Makes a Difference

With America’s oil and gas prices remaining at record levels, there are a few simple ways that motorists can improve the efficiency and life of their vehicles. These include changing oil, oil filters and air filters at regular intervals, making sure tires are properly inflated and aligned, ensuring the gas cap is completely tightened, and sticking to the factory maintenance schedule.

According to Lauren Fix, nationally known as “The Car Coach,” routine auto maintenance can go a long way. “By checking your air filter and tire pressure regularly as well as changing your oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, drivers will see a difference in the performance of their automobile,” she said.
