NEW YORK, NY (November 15, 2007) – Seventeen, the best-selling magazine for young women, is donating hot fashions from the 17 most stylish young celebrities of 2007 to a charity auction. Each celebrity was hand-picked by the magazine as “Style Stars” and featured in a special December/January double issue (on newsstands November 20).
Personal items from the “Style Stars” and clothes worn during the Seventeen photo shoots will be auctioned at seventeen.com/ebay from November 15 - 25, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. This star-studded auction features the world’s most celebrated young talents, including: Jessica Alba, Beyoncé, Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, Fergie, Rihanna, Pink, Hilary Duff, Lauren Conrad, Vanessa Hudgens, Jordin Sparks, Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, Amanda Bynes, Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts, Lil Mama and Aly & AJ.
“By combining the power of Seventeen’s 13 million readers and eBay’s 248 million registered users with the generous donations of our Style Stars, we’re hoping to make a significant contribution that will help the Make-A-Wish Foundation continue to turn dreams into reality for kids all across the country,” said Seventeen Editor in Chief Ann Shoket. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back and improve the lives of young people who are confronting life-threatening illnesses.”
The charity auction will include such signature pieces as a fedora from Ashlee Simpson, Gucci boots from Pink that were worn in concert, a Giorgio Armani tote from Jessica Alba, and an entire outfit from Hilary Duff’s closet. Other items from the “Style Stars’” recent Seventeen photo shoots include Hayden Panatierre’s Julie Haus dress, Rihanna’s Moschino Cheap & Chic dress, and a personally selected look from Lauren Conrad’s own fashion line.
“We are delighted that Seventeen, eBay and these stylish celebrities have joined to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation through this terrific auction,” said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer. “Thanks to their contributions, we will be able to grant the heartfelt wishes of more children and enable them to experience the joy of being a kid again.”
