Klay's Wish to have a Backyard Putting Green

Five-year-old Klay wished to play golf on his own backyard putting green.

In December 2018, just a few months before his third birthday, Klay was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He would have a long road ahead with challenging medical treatments, but he also had the love and support of his family to help get him through it.

Klay has a twin sister, two older brothers who are also twins, and an older sister. His family is very close, and he loves doing outdoor activities and going on adventures with them.

One of Klay’s favorite activities is golfing with his dad and his brothers. But since he is too young to go to the “big park” (golf course), Klay thought it would be super fun to bring the golf course to him, so he wished to have a putting green in his backyard!

Thanks to the generosity of our Board Chair Tricia, who also served as the wish granter for Klay’s wish, and her company BrightView Landscapes, we were able to plan out a putting green with four holes in his backyard. Now Klay can golf with his siblings from the comfort and safety of his own backyard – which is especially convenient while being at home in quarantine.

A special thank you to BuildCal Turf Inc, Shawgrass and Envirofill for generously supporting this wish and making Klay’s dream a reality. Now Klay will be able to practice his golf game at home so when it’s time to take his skills to the “big park” his dad and his brothers might have a little more competition.
