Matthew A. Ouimet

Biography:

Matt is President of the Hotel Group for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Joining Starwood in 2006, Ouimet oversees hotel operations worldwide for the Company's more than 900 hotels in 95 countries flying Starwood’s nine renowned brand flags including Sheraton, Westin, W Hotels and St. Regis. Matt previously was an executive of The Walt Disney Company for 17 years. At Disney, Ouimet was recognized for assembling talented teams that drove successful business results and benchmark levels of guest satisfaction. He played a key role in the development of Walt Disney World during the 1990’s; led the Disney Vacation Club and the Disney Cruise Line; and, most recently served as the President of the Disneyland Resort during it’s 50th anniversary. Matt, who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton, was appointed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation National Board of Directors in January 2008. His previous community involvement includes serving as the vice chairman of Children’s Hospital of Orange County (Calif.) in 2006 and as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of California, Irvine. Matt and his family live in Connecticut.
