PHOENIX (February 27, 2014) – The end of the 2013 calendar year brought with it the conclusion of the sixth annual Subaru “Share the Love” event. For every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased during the event, Subaru donated $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities that benefit the community. For 2013, Subaru revved its potential donation up to $10 million total – a record amount that doubles the maximum donation offered for the previous year’s program. Subaru recently announced that the full $10 million will be distributed to the chosen charities.
Make-A-Wish® America will receive $2,041,839 from Subaru and the 2013 “Share the Love” event. The donation will enable Make-A-Wish chapters in local communities nationwide to grant more wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions – wishes that forever change the lives of wish kids. In fact, many wish kids credit the wish experience with improving their health and strength.
“Subaru has developed a unique program that puts its customers in the driver’s seat for the company’s charitable giving,” said David Williams, Make-A-Wish America president and CEO. “We are grateful to Subaru for including Make-A-Wish in the program and are honored so many customers picked Make-A-Wish as the charity of choice.”
The “Share the Love” event has generated $35 million for charity throughout its six year existence. Make-A-Wish has been a beneficiary of the program for the last three years, totaling more than $4,575,000 for the wish-granting organization.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can have positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Based in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes.
