PHOENIX (October 31, 2011) – The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America has named Drew E. Lawton, senior managing director and CEO of retirement plan services at New York Life Insurance Company, to its national board of directors.
In his role with New York Life, one of the largest mutual life insurance companies in the United States, Lawton oversees the company’s retirement plan services division and its investment consulting group. He is also responsible for equity- and income-focused investment boutiques including MacKay Shields LLC, Institutional Capital, Madison Square Investors and McMorgan & Company.
Before joining New York Life, Lawton served as president of Fridson Investment Advisors, LLC. His other professional experience includes executive and marketing positions with Fidelity Investments and Aetna Life and Casualty. Lawton has served as a board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 2005, and served as board chairman from 2008-2010.
Lawton comes to the Make-A-Wish® national board after a very successful term of service as a member, and ultimately board chair, of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Lawton earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas. He currently resides in Boston.
Lawton will serve a three-year term on the Make-A-Wish national board of directors.
