A Great Workplace to Launch Your Career

Make-A-Wish® is a great place for a young professional to start and build a career. It is an inspiring, challenging, and rewarding workplace.

Some people graduate from college and just hope to get a job. Any job. Many assume their first job will be just that – a job, with long hours, low pay, and meaningless work in return for that first line on the resume. They expect to dread going to work.

Others realize it doesn't need to be that way. Because they started their career at Make-A-Wish.

The work of wish granting, and supporting wish granting, is not always easy. Nothing important ever is. It is, however, noble, fulfilling, and life-changing work. Here in the National Office of Make-A-Wish America, recent graduates are immersed in exciting, challenging, and purposeful work. Every employee is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of experience or role, and each is focused on helping Make-A-Wish move ever closer to its vision of granting the wish of every eligible child.

A Great Environment to Grow Your Talents

By several measures, Make-A-Wish stands among the top 10 charities in the United States. We got here because we value innovation, fresh thinking and talent development.

To reach more kids who need a wish and advance the Make-A-Wish brand, we need to invest in the continual growth of our employees.

The National Office benefits provide individual training, career path development and management support to employees through formal programs, including periodic speakers and workshops. Departments and project groups receive team-enhancement support from the professionals in certified training and talent management on staff.

Many employees attend and/or conduct presentations and trainings at regional and national Make-A-Wish conferences. Some have the opportunity to join industry associations and attend outside association conferences or career development programs. Additional benefits for employees include educational assistance for those choosing to pursue new degrees or certifications.
